Twice A Stranger (2010)

There are 10 of us and we are all living in countries other than the ones we were born in. We wish to explore the theme of “The Other”, a subject pertinent to each of our identities.

Twice A Stranger aims to shed a light on the ongoing global phenomena of mass immigration.

Twice A Stranger aims to recognize, celebrate and affirm different cultural identities and values within our society in order to promote co-existence between equal individuals.

I would like to arrange a month long residency for all 10 artists to create new work to be exhibited in Istanbul – Turkey. There are possibilities for the exhibition to travel as well but first we need to find funding !!!

İki Kere Yabancı

Geç kaldık anıları kaybetmeye
o ilk malzeme yitti gitti
ilk mübadiller götürdüler anılarını
oysa onlar hemen kaydedilmeliydi
üzerinden seksen yıl geçtikten sonra
ani savaşları
her türlü manipulasyona açık
Mübadeleyle ilgili her metnin özü aynı:
“Yerinde doğup yabanda kocamak”
iki yerde de yabancı olmak.
